Happy Thanks Giving Backup Song

I thought I'd share a song I came across in newsgroups about Backup. I'm not sure who the source is, but the "I'm Feeling Lucky" search on Google Groups returned a post by Willi El Goldschmied.

Anyways, hopefully no one spends their Thanks Giving recovering a server. Here is the song:

Yesterday,
All those back-ups seemed a waste of pay.
Now my database has gone away.
Oh I believe in Yesterday.

Suddenly,
There's not half the files there used to be,
And there's a milestone hanging over me
The system crashed so suddenly.

I pushed something wrong
What it was I could not say.

Now all my data's gone
and I long for Yesterday-ay-ay-ay.

Yesterday,
The need for back-ups seemed so far away.
I knew my data was all here to stay,
Now I believe in Yesterday.

Hey, Sean - glad you like my type of song parodies!

I published that "Yesterday" parody about backups almost two years ago: Song 1I also published another parody using the same "Yesterday" song almost two years ago: Song 2And, finally, I did another backup pareody to the tune of "Today, when the blossoms..." about a year ago: Song 3

They are Excellent! I'm glad I gave credit where credit is due. I was concerned I was crediting the wrong person. So far so good! :) I like this one especially, it's posted on my door here at work. Now I can write a name on it (since it was printed out for me by someone else.

Keep the Tunes coming!
